PAY WITH BLOOD
Romania is ranked second to last in the European Union for blood donors. Only 0.2% of young people are donors.
Untold, the biggest festival in Romania organized in Transylvania was the perfect opportunity to convince young people that blood donation can be a part of everyday life.
Together with Romania’s National Institute for Blood Transfusions, Untold launched Pay with Blood, a national campaign where every blood donor got a free one day ticket to the festival or a festival discount.
In less than two weeks, there were more than 1,300 donors. The campaign generated more than 1,000 pieces of national and international news coverage.
After the campaign, we realised that the one-time action could not solve a permanent problem. That’s why we decided to make our program permanent and created Blood Network, the first Romanian network of volunteer blood donors.
